LISTENING SKILL

Listening skill is where you listen with empathy, you make eye contact without staring off. It's the ability to actively understand the information provided by the speaker, and display interest in the topic discussed. It can also include providing the speaker with feedback.

"Listening isn't the same as hearing"

Culprits Behind Poor Listening

1. Unprocessed note-taking: writing verbatim (word for word) notes.

2. Nonlistening: not paying attention.

3. Interruptive listening: one person consistently interrupts another.

4. Agenda-driven listening: focusing so much on what comes next in the speech you pay little attention to audience members.
